March 30th, 2015

Happy Monday readers! Can you believe Easter is already this weekend? This new year is already flying by. On today's blog I thought I would share some Easter inspired interiors, filled with the beautiful pastel hues. When one usually thinks of light pastel colors they tend to only associate them with nurseries or kids rooms, am I right? I am here to report pastels can be used in any room of the house! Take a look at some gorgeous pastel (and bunny) filled interiors.

The coral and blue colors in this living room compliment each other perfectly, the mix of color thought the furniture fabrics, finishes and pillows creates such a cohesive space. And check out this exterior - the Easter bunny would definitely not miss your home if you had this coral & mint façade!

How darling are these lamb, deer, & bunny artwork!

I love these mint kitchen cabinets! They are subtle enough to act as a neutral background to colorful accessories like this gorgeous rug, while still bringing a unique and unexpected element to the room.

If you're wanting to incorporate some pastel colors into your home but aren't daring enough to make major changes, try adding color through fun & inspiring artwork!

TIPS + TRENDS [KITCHEN ORGANIZATION]

TIPS + TRENDS [KITCHEN ORGANIZATION]
March, 24th 2015

Hello readers! Today's blog is all about organization within your kitchen. Whether building new, remodeling, or just modifying your existing cabinets there are several ways to add function & organization to any kitchen.

A big trend these days is to maximize drawer space. There are many different spacers & dividers out there in today's market that turn the usual unpleasant drawer full of cooking utensils into an organizational masterpiece!

Sometimes it's the littlest of details that make a world of difference. How many of you have fixed drawer cabinets in front of your sink? Don't worry, I too am guilty! Next time you update your kitchen keep this drop down hinged drawer feature in mind to easily store dish washing supplies.

I love these two creative ways to store spices within arms reach of the stove, so handy!

Nobody likes cluttered counters, and this pull out drawer helps prevent that by hiding paper towels and hand cloths within the cabinet to free up counter space.

There are many different ideas out there of what to do with microwaves in the kitchen. One of the latest trends is to conceal it within a cabinet where it can easily be accessed when needed, or stored away behind cabinet doors when not in use. I love the idea of also storing coffee pots, mixers, etc. in the same area like shown in these pictures!

With today's society revolving around technology it's no surprise we are starting to see the request for "charging stations" within a home. Having a specific drawer or cabinet designated for all electronic devices helps condense the usual mess of charging cords to one area that can easily be stored away.

Maximizing corner storage in a kitchen is always an important challenge. New and innovative drawers and pull out cabinets are gaining popularity because of its ability to more efficiently maximize storing capacity then the usual "Lazy Susan" cabinet concept.

Here at the office we love our animals & are all about incorporating our furry friends into our living space! Check out this clever cabinet that allows you to store your pets food and water dish, while having the option of being tucked away when not needed.

Which of these new and inventive concepts are you wishing to incorporate into your kitchen?

TIPS + TRENDS [WHITEWASHED WOOD]

TIPS + TRENDS [WHITEWASHED WOOD]
March 12th, 2015

A very obvious trend lately is to brighten & lighten everything - including wood! Everything tends to eventually come around again, and lightened wood is a prime example. The last few years it has been all about dark wood; kitchen cabinets, hardwood floors, ect. But I'm here to report other trends are taking the spotlight these days. For example: whitewashed wood!

White & gray hues have been hugely popular lately, so it's no surprise that whitewashed or even "gray washed" woods have increased in popularity too. Its subtle and neutral look gives any room a sense of serenity.

Whether you have a traditional or modern home, this trend can easily be incorporated into any home.

Floors, walls, beams, ceilings, doors & more - check out some great installations of whitewashed wood!

Dark wood vs. whitewashed wood, which do you prefer?
